Corylus Avellana

This comes under the category of medium tree usually growing no more than 20 feet. It is sometimes used to create hedges. It has distinctive catkins that appear in February. Some people call then 'Sheep-tails'. Leaves appear after the catkins. Known most famously due to its fruit (hazelnuts) which ripen in September to October.

A great tree for wildlife! The expected life span is around 70 to 80 years.
