Pinus Sylvestris

This comes in the category of a large tree, reaching 40ft or more in height. Allow a similar size for spacing/spread. This tree is grown for its foliage. It is evergreen with varying shades (blue to yellow-green) and aromatic. It has pine needles and cones.

It prefers full sun.

Recognised most widely for commercial purposes - they are good for timber and of course, many think of the pine as associated with Christmas. All pines produce resin, which is used commercially (eg: Turpentine) and medicinally (Antiseptics).
