Agrimony
Agrimonia eupatoria Agrimony derives from the word Argemone, which were healing plants so named by the Greeks, and Eupatoria originates from the distinguished King Eupator, who was well known for creating herbal preparations. Agrimony has properties of a medicinal herb, and can be found in profusion in many areas of natural habitat. A rather 'woody' perennial, the plant's slightly rough stems grow to 1 or 2 feet, with plentiful rich deep green leaves and slim spears of small yet numerous yellow flowers when in bloom, anytime between June to September. It has a slight scent some say is reminiscent of apricots. However, there are natural variations to the plant so that they often differ. Can be planted virtually any time of the year though keep watered if planted in Summer. To create a natural effect, plant a small quantity close together (approximately 4 plants) but then space these groups out to give the impression of drift. This plant was often used to produce dyes. Medicinally it was used for ailments ranging from sprains and bruises to bad backs, though at times this called for mixing it with many unseemly and dubious components. More realistically, it was used as a 'tea' for such things as coughs.
