Teucriun derives from the name of a Trojan King, Teucer, who reputedly used the plant for medicinal purposes. It is also reported that it could equally be named after Dr Teucer who was a botanist. Hycranicium was a region of Persia during by-gone times.
This plant grows up to 2 feet in height. It blooms in mid summer to produce long spears of clustered flowers that are a deep pink-red/purple in tone. It prefers full sun.
It is reported as being aromatic and perfect for rock gardens. It puts on a striking show in bloom.
