Festuca Ovina Duriuscula
The word Festuca is Latin in origin and refers to stalk or grass. You may see it listed as Blue Fescue or Sea Urchin.
This perennial is an ornamental grass growing approximately 6 to 16 inches in height. It grows in dense clumps. The leaves are a blue-grey-green. When it blooms from early to mid summer, the flowers are white.
It likes sun or shade, with dry to moist soil. It is more liable to survive in a sandy soil than the majority of grass varieties. It is quite tolerant of both drought and cold temperatures. It is quite an enduring plant.
