Alopecurus Geniculatus

Alopecurus is a Green word meaning a grass that is 'like a fox's tail'. Geniculatus means sharply bent. It may be referred to as Water Foxtail. This ornamental grass is generally a low variety.

Its stems run along the ground and then curve upwards. Its foliage is a mid to bright green. It produces a 'spike'. These spikes taper off and look quite shaggy - white and then into brown.

In the wild, it is generally found in damp areas of grassland.
