Juncus Effusus

Juncus simply means Rush. Effusus means Loose. This ornamental grass grows up to a foot in height. Like many such grasses, it is grown primarily for its foliage. The leaves are smooth and shiny. It 'blooms' in the midst of summer with fine, flowing loose clusters of 'seeds' that are yellow-green with bronze tips.

It prefers some light shading. In the wild, it can be found in damp situations and by the side of waterways and streams; therefore it is ideal for use around ponds.
