Juncus Inflexus

Juncus simply means Rush. Inflexus, rather than meaning stiff as one might surmise, means inwardly bent. This is an ornamental grass for pond areas. It grows up to 2 feet in height. It blooms from around June into October; the 'flower' it produces is a brown mass. Like many such plants it is grown for the foliage which is blue-green.

This plant prefers sun to partial shade.

In the wild, it can be found in wet areas such as marshes, and amongst sand dunes along the coast.
