Geranium pratense
The word Geranium originates from the Greek 'geranos', referring to 'crane'. The word Pratense is pertaining to 'meadow'.
This plant grows in height from approximately 24-36 inches. It's a perennial that likes sun to partial shade. It can bloom in a variety of colours from pink, blue to violet/lavender and tones of white. However, most commonly it will have blue flowers. It can bloom as early as late spring and throughout the middle of the year until late summer, but realistically expect flowers any time around June. Its foliage is blue/green with silver/grey tones. Remove dying and dead leaves and flowers to encourage new growth.
