Viola Palustris
Viola is a reference to plants of the Violet genus. Palustris refers to an inhabitant of marshes. Bog Violet
may also be known as Marsh Violet.
The height of this plant is approximately 6 to 12 inches. The flowers are white to mauve in colour. It is
one of the hardy varieties and can withstand a variety of climates. It likes sun, partial, and even full
shade.
In the wild, it can be found in wet woods, marshes and bogs and is therefore ideal for a water feature or
garden.
