Borage
Borago officinalis

This annual grows to a height of approximately 2 to 3 ft. The stems are hollow and have rough hairy texture. The flowers are a vibrant blue. The whole plant is aromatic. It prefers full sun.

This plant seeds freely. Both the flowers and leaves can be used. It has a light cucumber taste. Use the leaves for salads and the flowers for cake decorating. The flowers can also be candied though this practice is not so common nowadays.
Medicinally it was once used to treat any number of ailments from sore throats and fevers to rheumatism and chest disorders.
