Salvia sclarea

This plant is actually biennial though generally treated like an annual and grows in height to approximately 3ft in height. It has heart-shaped leaves. The flowers are usually pinky-purple though some other colours can occur and form in spikes.

It likes sun and is easy to grow in the ground or in a pot. Pick leaves as required, though they can also be dried or frozen. Use whenever a recipe calls for sage.
