Calendula officinalis

This plant can grow up to 2ft. The flowers are a bright yellow-orange in colour and bloom throughout the summer. The foliage is a bright 'fresh' green.

It likes full sun. The plant can be left to self-seed to increase stock.

The flowers are edible and some like to use them in salad. The petals used in cooking can be used in place of saffron for colour (it was once used to colour cheese) but the dish will not have the same flavour. Also use the flowers for arrangements.
