Rosemary
Rosmarinus officinalis
A shrub no herb garden should be without. This plant grows in height to approximately 3ft. The leaves are a blue-green colour and look like 'needles' branching off from the main twigs. It booms with lilac flowers.
It is an aromatic plant, wonderful scent, and very useful in the kitchen. It likes a sunny spot. They can get 'woody' after a few seasons and need to be replaced but you will get full use of it in the time it survives.
Pick leaves and sprigs as required to add to any number of dishes, including stews and anything with lamb. Can also be dried for cooking purposes. Dried sprigs look decorative (though will eventually 'crumble').
